Johnathan B.

Johnathon B. has been a great addition to our department, perfectly professional as well as funny personality. I have been on several traffic stops with him and Johnathon is great at communication, be that on scene or over the RTO. He often has creative approaches for the situations and voices them appropriately. I appreciate his awareness in RTO and Scenes and initiative that came handy on one of the investigative scene we had on Route 68. He demonstrates knowledge regarding specific tops adding depth to calls and scenes. Please keep up the good work and I look forwards to see you grow and excel.
Shrey M.

Hands down one of the best interactions with LEO I have ever had. He was on call with my elderly character as well as her grandson later in the day and not only did he make the connection but was professional and kind to both. First, with the elderly person he was helpful and kind when he could have just given her a ticket a went on with his business. With the grandson he could have charged with a felony DUI but dropped it to a misdemeanor charge. He also provided his card to both people and offered to help any further if he could. He is personable and does not just robot his way through a scenario.
Jordan R.

Recently I have been patrolling more often and I have noticed Jordan R truly improving his knowledge as a BCSO Deputy and a member has a whole. The way Jordan conducts himself on patrol, reflects the BCSO Core Values and represents the Blaine County Sheriff's Office in a positive way.
Bryant H.

Bryant was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my entire phase 1 ride along. He posted a message in the Sheriff Office chat on Discord asking if anyone needed their ride alongs completed so I replied back and within minutes we began getting it done. He was extremely professional whilst going through the information I needed to know and was able to answer each question I had. Throughout the ride along we were able to have some casual chat which was nice to get to know him better as I don't know many people in this department. At the end of the ride along he told me if I ever need something that I can reach out to him to chat which I really appreciate. Bryant is a great example of the people in Midwest RP, Friendly, Professional and Courteous. I was expecting the ride along to be a hassle to get done, but he made it enjoyable and the time flew past.
Riley C.

Riley is well informed, composed and knowledgable deputy. Recently I had a scene with a potential DUI where SFSTs, FSTs and Blood Warrant were to be taken. Riley was not only well informed about all the red-lining of the call and FST cert but also used the best of his obsersation and descretion on the call. I commend him for being a great pilot, being dedicated to such an amazing RP as well as being an amazing TSD officer assisting other units with DUI informing civillians about the law properly and in depth with nothing being left out.
Statie T.

Statie has stood out a lot lately, not just as a supervisor but as a highrisk commander, pilot, sub divison training officer and a whole lot. He has been a guiding figure to a lot of the deputies and officers of the law on several scenes. He has made sure that everyone is felt welcomed, well understood and well heard. Recently there was a highrisk scene down in the city where Statie acted as scene command. On that scene, his communication and leadership guided the scene to a safe conclusion that had as minimum escalation as possible. He had all of this resourses utilized befittingly and had executed the whole operation by the book.
Evan G.

To give a little background I was active as civ. The character I was RPing as is an Army Veteran who was medically discharged after being wounded in combat in suffering from various mental illnesses. He is super suspicious of cops and other people. Evan had seen me riding along side a set of railroad tracks in the county. He lost eyes on me but located me later on. During the interaction Evan was super understanding of my characters nervousness and did everything he could to slow the interaction down as not to spook my character. He did an excellent job at taking into consideration my background and being calm with me.

To give a little background I was active as civ. The character I was RPing as is an Army Veteran who was medically discharged after being wounded in combat in suffering from various mental illnesses. Another civ had called my character in because he thought I was at risk of slipping and falling off rock formations my character was climbing on. Needless to say, Sheriff's Deputies and SAFR showed up and attempted to locate me. When they finally located me they were calm and polite the entire time. Caleb stood out on this scene however. Being in the Army destroyed my character. He just lived by getting by and that is it. Caleb being in the Army understood the struggles of my character. He knew that a lot of veterans who suffer from mental disorders don't seek help and are in rough places when they return into the civilian life. Well speaking with Caleb he shared information that will ultimately help my character escape from the hole he is in with his mental illness. He talked with me and allowed my character to relax and understand there were people out there for him. Awesome job Caleb!
Michael D.

I was attached to a scene the other day where a CIV was trying to detain Michael for suspicion of DUI. When I got on scene Michael was calm with the CIV and when I brought up the idea of him undergoing FSTs, he agreed before I could even finish my sentence. Michael showed all 4 of the BCSO core values on that scene and it's for this reason and a lot more that I think he needs to be recognized.
Camden H.

Id like to Give a shout out to Camden for his awesome leadship during my recent Stage 3 exam. Camden displayed professionalism and an in-depth understanding of the department, providing awesome guidance for my return to the Sheriff's Office. What truly set Camden apart was everything that came after the exam. His willingness to prioritize my questions and concerns was noticed. Which demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities, and a commitment to looking out after his guys after backing me up on a traffic stop. His knowledge and dedication made a positive impact, and I have no doubt that he is a valuable asset to BCSO.

Taylor showed exceptional operation and team management on a operation requiring the movement of a at risk deputy to a safe location. Taylor kept good communication had solid plans in place and saved deputies lives. When thrown a multiple problems Taylor didn't panic but kept headstrong and faced the challenge and got everyone home safe and did a excellent job handling this operation.
Asher B.

Asher is always willing to help out anyone in need. There has never been an instance where Asher hasn't volunteered to do something that needed to be done on a scene. He is constantly trying to help out his fellow deputies with the tasks they need completed. On top of that, Asher is a friendly face to everyone. He always tries to strike conversations with deputies and civilians and create that relationship and that bond that ultimately makes relationships among deputies better but also the relationship between civilians and deputies is stronger because he is a human, and he acts like it. He sets an example for what it means to do community policing. That's interacting with the public in a positive way and humanizing law enforcement.
Shrey M.
1342
Shrey has always been a friendly face in BCSO. Someone any deputy can go to for help or simply just to talk to. I felt Shrey deserved to be recognized for being a friendly face to our civilians. Shrey had clocked 3 motorcycles at speeds upwards of 100+ mph on Joshua Rd. As he attempted to stop them, they pulled into a gas station and waited for Shrey to talk to them. They were extremely respectful although they had gone 100+ mph and could have very well been arrested for motor vehicle contest. Because the civilians were respectful to all the LEOs on that scene and complied with orders the second they were given, Shrey looked for another way other than jail. He decided that because they stopped, were respectful, and complied without any hesitation. He wrote them citations for the speed and various other violations. He could've vary well impounded the bikes, suspended licenses, and even arrested them but he looked for an alternative. I love to see my deputies going the extra mile for people when they don't have to. Awesome job Shrey!
Jim R.

I don't interact with Jim much other than conversations here and there but I was assisting him on a traffic stop of a BOLO'd subject he was looking for. He was looking for him because he believed the civilian attempted to run from her roughly 5 minutes prior to the traffic stop. There wasn't much out of the ordinary when I rolled up. It was being treated like a normal traffic stop. However, once Jim talked with the civilian he determined that the guy was being truthful about having no knowledge of Jim attempting to stop him for a speed violation. What was unique about this is many LEO would have said "No, I was behind you with my lights and sirens. There's no way you didn't know I was behind you." or "I don't care if you knew I was there or not"; and arrested the civilian right then and there. Jim didn't want to do that...he believed this guy because Jim doesn't turn into a robot when he is on-duty. He uses his best judgement and believed this guy. Another issue Jim ran into was that the civilian was driving on a suspended license. The guy honest didn't know it was suspended. So Jim did what he thought was best. Rather than taking him to jail for driving on a suspended license; he wrote a citation for the speed he had clocked him at previously and driving on a suspended license, impounded his car, and let him either walk home or have a friend pick him up. Jim wanted a different way other than jail for this guy, simply because he had been caught in a very bad situation. He also felt jail wasn't the best option either. Jim impressed me by looking for another way. People need to realize jail is not the only option.
Emmett H.

Emmett is one of those deputies I still look to for guidance on how to be a good cop even as a CoC Member. This scene I was assisting him with shows exactly why. He had been dispatched to a noise complaint at a motel in Paleto Bay. During this patrol I was trying to float around to various calls going on in Blaine County to see how well my deputies were doing their jobs (to recognize them for doing good) and if I could help in anyway; so I decided to roll up and assist him if he needed it and watch from the side lines. As I rolled up Emmett was talking to a guy who was clearly intoxicated. He spoke to him like he was another human being. Not once did Emmett see himself as anything other than another human being. One thing I love about Emmett is how quick he can think on his feet. An example of this is at some point during the interaction Emmett wanted the male to sit down. As the male sat down, a handgun became visible in his waist band. The male, who was beyond intoxicated, says that he will reach for it and hand it to either Emmett or myself. Emmett thinking quickly, grabs the mans hands and explains to him that we would prefer to take the gun. He could have easily pulled back and drawn his firearm on the male, but he chose to talk to him and de-escalate the situation without using force. Later on in the scenario, it was discovered the male had a .20 BAC level and had taken medication alongside of that. The male began having a seizure, which could have been bad had Emmett not quickly thought of the steps to protect him and keep him safe until it stopped. This includes putting something in-between his teeth to prevent him from biting his tongue. After the interaction was over Emmett continued to self initiate tasks on himself, and wasn't afraid of telling me what the next step he wanted. He also looked for every opportunity to cut the male a break, because he was in an altered state of mind. Emmett remained professional and a human being during this interaction, that is what an exemplary deputy is.
Church C.

I have always thought highly of Church. He's one of the best BCSO has to offer. He wowed me like always on a traffic stop me and him conducted together on a reckless driver. First things first...he took charge of the traffic stop. He didn't wait for me to tell him, he never asked if I wanted to make contact...he just knew what he was doing and handled his business. Secondly, during the traffic stop the civilian was belligerent when he was told the reasons for the traffic stop. Church remained profession, which is what we expect, but the one thing that wowed me about the interaction was Church didn't let the civilian run the show. Although he was being screamed at...he never let it phase him. He continued to do his job the way he knows how to do it. I really encourage all deputies to take charge of their scenes. Too many times I've seen LEOs let civilians walk all over them, fearful of the repercussions if they don't. I loved the way Church remained respectful but still had a commanding presence on this scene. All well getting screamed at. Nice job Church! Keep up the amazing work!

During my time on patrol with Senior Deputy Joshua S, he is always a very hard working and very stern Deputy he never lets a Civilian control a scene and is always Knowledgeable. everytime i am out with Joshua S he always makes it a Priority to help out Deputies who are struggling with charges or a Scene. he can be a Role model to newer Deputies and is always willing to help where he is needed.
